You've landed here to learn a little more about me! So let's relax and rewind about 26 years. After all, who doesn't love a little field trip through time?

I was born and raised in Clinton Township, MI. I grew up alongside my four siblings and enjoyed my childhood spent outdoors with the neighborhood kids! Ever since a young age, I adored school and looked up to the teachers who supported me. Combine that adoration with my natural love for children, after years of babysitting, and you might say it's no wonder I was drawn towards the field of education.

I followed in my sibling's footsteps by attending Michigan State University (MSU) for my undergraduate program. I guess you could say we bleed green! I graduated in 2014 with studies focused on Language Arts and Teaching English to Speaker of Other Languages (TESOL). I not only solidified my love for teaching at MSU but also found the love of my life! I met Daniel, my fiance, while volunteering as a camp counselor through the organization, Camp Kesem

After the completion of my teaching internship in a second grade classroom, I began my teaching career in Novi, Michigan at Village Oaks Elementary. I taught second grade for one year and then taught first grade for the past three years with my dream team! During my second year of teaching, my school hired my little sister as a classroom teacher! Now I get to see her everyday and share my passion for teaching with my best friend! Through my district, I have had the opportunity to explore areas of interest such as Project Based Learning (PBL), Guided Reading Groups, and Cultures of Thinking. I am known around our school as the decorating queen!

Along with teaching first grade, I am currently working towards completing my Masters in Educational Technology at MSU. I will complete this program in August of 2019. I am also busy with house decorating and wedding planning. Daniel and I purchased our first home this past summer and will get married in July of 2020.

When I am not teaching, you can find me spending time with my sweet nephews, searching vintage markets for hidden treasures, or playing with my puppy, Theodore. Theodore is a recent addition to our little family and only weighs about 5 pounds!

Now that you're up to speed on my personal and professional life, let's see where this future road takes me! Thanks for coming along for the ride!
